Where it All Began

Long Run Samoyeds is located in beautiful Darby, MT.  I am Moriah Jester, a marketing major and operations specialist.  My husband, Luke, and I were married in 2018 and share a passion for this breed and breeding excellence in versatility.  With recent changes in life, including graduation, our marriage, new jobs, and the birth of our child, we have moved again and settled our little family in Montana.  As for the dogs, Shasta was my first Samoyed and the foundation of Long Run Samoyeds.  From that first day, she has become an irreplaceable member of our family.  My childhood dream had always been to have a dog of my own, which I could compete and excel with; a dog like no other, that could join me on a journey to better the breed and to reach its potential.

Once my dream of getting a dog started to become a reality, I searched and read, learning everything I possibly could about each dog breed that I had considered owning.  Then I found them, the perfect dog, the Samoyed.  I stumbled upon the breed in one of my books.  When I began to research the breed more in-depth, I knew they were meant for me.

I took my time, visited Samoyeds, watched them at shows, and searched for my perfect puppy.  I was painfully particular in my search.  No exceptions would be made.  I searched long and hard, in an effort to locate success in a variety of venues.

Eventually, I found the perfect litter and was thrilled to be placed on the list for a puppy.  The parents had done it all - and that is where I got Shasta, my first Samoyed.  Shasta has grown to be an amazing dog and more than I could have ever hoped for.  It is with her, that Long Run Samoyeds was begun.  Now we continue to grow and develop our program, with Shasta watching over the young dogs that will strive to carry on the Long Run name.  Please enjoy browsing the website and learning more about our endeavors with this remarkable breed.
