Here at Long Run Samoyeds, puppies are raised with a focus on their future.  They grow up in a home environment, supplemented with extensive enrichment and socialization activities.  Our puppies are raised following the Puppy Culture program and we do Early Neurological Stimulation with them, to help prepare them to be adaptable and stable dogs.  Training is begun early, using clicker training to shape exploration and early manners.  All in all, we believe that it is our job as breeders to do all we can to give our puppies the best possible start in life, and so that is what we do.  The photos on this page display some of the many things that Long Run Samoyeds puppies experience.

The environment that puppies are raised in is crucial to their development.  Our puppies are born in our bedroom or office, where they receive lots of supervision during their early days.  This environment keeps Momma dog calm and helps her to provide quiet care to her pups.  At 17 days of age, the puppies are introduced to a potty area.  While the pups are just learning to toddle about, they instinctively strive to keep their sleeping area clean.  Encouraging this natural instinct helps to make potty training easier for future owners.  Between three and four weeks of age, the puppies are moved to a new area, where they are frequently exposed to the loud and busy sounds of everyday life.  The puppies also explore the outdoors and other exciting areas at this age.  Potty training support is encouraged until the puppies join their new families, between eight and ten weeks of age.
